As a professional organizer, my job is to help my client transform their chaotic environments into functional spaces.  Before I begin organizing and putting things in their proper places, the process starts with decluttering and sorting.  It is during this stage of the process that I often uncover unexpected items.  From a long-lost wedding band to a sentimental item passed down for generations, you never know what you will find in the most unexpected places. I may not know what I will encounter but I always love hearing the stories behind them.

For my last post of the year, I’d like to show you some of the things that I have come across over the years.  Some are cute, some…not so much.  Some may bring back memories while others may make you want to ask why.  In any case, enjoy!

Not only did I find baby teeth in a Banker’s box full of tax documents, but my client also wasn’t sure which kid they belong to! ☺

Speaking of tax documents, I am sure we don’t need to keep any from the 90’s or even the early 2000’s:

Sometimes, I find things that make me wonder:

Vintage, anyone?

While we are on the topic of vintage, check out these finds:

If you are feeling nostalgic, you will like these:

Sometimes, my work is not always glamourous…

… and as much as I try, accidents happen:

Every now and then, I’d like to have some fun…

I go from putting hats and wigs on my head, to putting N95 masks on my face.

and these adorable supervisors make my day every time:

I have come across cute animals, dead animals and sometimes half eaten animals.

Wishing you a peaceful holiday season and may the new year bring you prosperity and good health!

I had so much fun reading this! And I think we had that exact same washboard at home. It had been left behind by the previous owner, if I remember correctly (and I do tend to remember the least important facts…)
